Villa St Francis Catholic Care Center

My father in law stayed there for a couple of weeks recently in hospice care and my mother in law is currently spending a month there in rehab after hip replacement surgery and about to be released. I have been there every day and both have received excellent care and attention. While no place is perfect, I would recommend this place to anyone needing their services.

They denied my mom for financial reasons even though their website clearly states that is not a factor in determining need! They cut her off without any explanation or opportunities for further options!

My Grandmother was placed in the Alzheimer's hall. She received excellent care from the staff and the three nuns who work there. My grandmother absolutely loved the nuns, and the presence of these beautiful saints - in my opinion - had a huge influence over the staff that worked within that hall as well.

Not all halls within the same facility are alike - I cannot speak of the other halls in Villa St. Francis, just this one. If you must place a loved one in a 24 hr. care facility - it is best to look at the staff - where their room will be situated...and remember, if the staff changes, so does the level of care.

Not a fan. I had an in-law who fared none too well at the facility about a decade ago. Fast forward to an emergency situation at my parent's nursing home which placed my parent at VSF for one (1) month in 2015.

This is 2017 and the facility continues to bill me for a second month when my parent wasn't even there! I've written letters, left messages on a daily basis for the accounting person, called the administrator and have not been extended the courtesy of a return phone call. I've been told the reason for the error is a "change in the accounting person". Well, I've spoken with the new accounting person and her lack of responsiveness and inability to correct this matter demonstrates either a lack of organizational efforts to attract and hire competent people or a deficiency in the training of the people who are hired. I've managed accounting departments, and I'm pretty sure that the person who allowed an error to continue to two years would have had to dust off his resume to work elsewhere.

There is a part of this facility that doesn't look too bad. Just one part. The rest has a sad, depressing nursing home look and feel and some of the staff leave one wondering whether certifications should be reviewed for some of them.

Both of my parents were in the Alzheimer's wing of Villa St. Francis, including when my father passed away. The staff in the hall are the most caring I have seen anywhere, from the nursing staff, activity coordinator, to the house cleaning staff. It truly felt like they were a family mourning the loss of my father with me. They continue to take care of my mother, both in physical and mental health. I truly feel them doing God's work through their hands. Finding a good place for elder care is a rocky road, and with Villa St. Francis we feel like we've found a home.
