Balls Food Stores opens new grocery store on Santa Fe

Balls Food Stores has opened a Payless Discount Foods at the former Price Chopper at 2101 E. Santa Fe St., at 135th and Mur-Len Road. The store, which opened earlier this week, calls itself a 'no-frills' operation, stating that customers will sack their own groceries and the store will not take credit cards in order to keep prices low. Items will include fresh meat and produce, canned and boxed goods, pet food, and cleaning supplies. The Price Chopper pharmacy will continue to operate in the location.
