District Students Earn Highest ACT Composite Score

OLATHE – Students in the Olathe School District scored a composite score of 23.9 in the ACT exam, the highest in the district’s history. The test was taken by 80 percent of 2014 graduates, also a high for the district. The scores were well above state and national peers.

"We are thrilled with the latest ACT results for the Olathe district students,” Deputy Superintendent Alison Banikowski said. “The ACT test, because it is given nationally, is an excellent measure of our students’ learning success. To have achieved the highest composite score in district history demonstrates the efforts of our staff, students, and parents as together we prepare students for their future!”

The four tests of the ACT Assessment measure academic areas traditionally identified with college preparatory high school programs: math, English, reading and science reasoning. ACT test scores are reported on a scale of 1 to 36.
The ACT is universally accepted for college admission and includes an interest inventory that provides information for career and educational planning. Many students take the ACT as a junior and again as a senior.
