Governor Sam Brownback, who defeated his primary challenger 63% to 37%, will face House Minority Leader Paul Davis, D-Lawrence, and Keen Umbehr, L-Alma, in the general election. Locally, current County Commissioner Chair Ed Eilert, Overland Park, who received 41% of the primary vote, will face former state Representative Patricia Lightner, Olathe, who received 38%.
