1Week KC to Celebrate Kansas City Entrepreneurship June 9-15

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City’s annual celebration of entrepreneurship is being held June 9-15, 2014. For the third consecutive year, 1Week KC will feature a series of local events to help build even greater awareness of and support for entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the Kansas City region.

“1Week KC celebrates everything the Kansas City entrepreneurial community has done — and aspires to,” said Nathan Kurtz, a manager in entrepreneurship at the Kauffman Foundation. “Right now, 1 Million Cups is two years old, Kansas City Startup Village is two years old and this week of celebration is the catalyst to bring everybody together. We’re truly on our way to becoming America’s most entrepreneurial city.”

Kurtz added, “Whether or not you’ve participated in 1Week KC before, this is the time to come together, get inspired, encourage and connect. It’s such an exciting thing to be a part of.” Throughout the course of the week, organizers expect to bring together more than 2,500 entrepreneurs, corporate representatives, investors and supporters.

New this year, 1Week KC will feature one or two signature events per day, enabling participants to easily attend them all. Specific events include such things as Entrepreneur Day at The K, an innovative technology showcase at Hallmark headquarters and Startup Weekend.
