Spring 2014 MNU Fine and Performing Arts Events

OLATHE, KAN, -- MidAmerica Nazarene University will perform in three additional Fine and Performing Arts events for spring 2014.

Jazz Ensemble Shares the Stage
The MNU jazz ensemble will join the Midwest Chamber ensemble as guest artists in a shared concert at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9100 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kan., April 12 at 7:30 pm.  David Smart, MNU guitar instructor, will join the band as a featured soloist. This event is free of charge.

Concert Band Presents AMERICANA
The semester's final band event presents AMERICANA featuring MNU's Concert Band and JCCC's Concert Band. This concert will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in Bell Cultural Events Center.  This event is free of charge.

On With the Show!
MNU's Choir will perform On With the Show! April 26 and 27. The concert features music from Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash Broadway hit "Phantom of the Opera" and Mark Charlap's "Peter Pan." 
 
The second half includes songs "A Wink and a Smile" from "Sleepless in Seattle" and the Manhattan Transfer's "Boy from New York City." Additional music includes "Yellow Submarine" and "Yesterday" made famous by the Beatles. Featured soloists include Grace Wallace, Sean Hephner, Mark Hall, Reggan Reynolds, and Morgan Bradford, among others.  The concert is directed by Dr. John Leavitt, professor of choral activities. Jennifer Clark is the accompanist.   

The concert will be presented Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 at 3:30 p.m. in Bell Cultural Events Center.
