Goodwill Seeks Hosts for Holiday Clothing Donation Drives

Kansas City, MO – Got Clothes? We’ll take them and turn them into jobs. With the Holidays just around the corner, Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas is in need of clothing donations. What better way to share the Holiday Spirit and give back to those in need than to hold a Clothing Donation Drive at your school, business or church? It’s easy! You collect the clothing for as long as you’d like and we pick it up when you’re ready.

Goodwill is also holding weekend clothing donation drives at retail and grocery stores in the Kansas City Metro Area. We are looking for companies to work those events on Saturdays and Sundays for the rest of the year.

It’s the perfect time clear out the old and prepare for the new this Holiday season. All the unwanted stuff might be clutter taking up closet space to some, but gently used clothing is treasure to Goodwill and the people we serve. Goodwill counts on these clothing donations to ensure a high quality shopping experience for our loyal customers, and our loyal customers help us provide job training and development for local people with barriers to employment.

If you’d like to organize a Clothing Donation Drive at your location or help with one of our weekend drives, please contact Joyce Peters at (816) 743-7643 or jpeters@mokangoodwill.org.

Goodwill’s mission is to strengthen individuals, families and communities in need through the Power of Work. The agency has 18 store locations in 82 counties on both sides of the state line, with additional donation sites and four GoodWORKS service centers.  In 2012, over 1,480,000 individuals shopped in its stores and 493,052 donated their unwanted items.  Learn more at www.mokangoodwill.org.
