Event Description: We are excited to announce KVC’s second annual Walk Me Home 5K to support foster families and children in our community. On Saturday, May 11, 2013, foster families and friends will gather at Theatre in the Park in Shawnee Mission Park to participate in our event. Walk Me Home serves to increase awareness of foster care, recruit foster families, and raise funds to support foster care programs and services in our community. We hope you will consider becoming a sponsor for this fun community event. Your kind participation will directly impact the lives of foster children in many ways including covering the costs for summer camps, recreational sports and equipment, music lessons, prom dresses and tuxedos for high school students, driver education and other expenses their foster families are unable to provide. Proceeds will also support innovative ideas to enhance our family training programs. Foster families open their hearts and homes to children in need and we look forward to celebrating and honoring their hard work. Your support and dedication to KVC and our mission has been more like a marathon and we look forward to helping children finish the race.
