Event Description: Fun for the entire family! FREE ADMISSION! The Heart of America Wing of the Commemorative Air Force invites you to come out to thei hangar and see their fully-restored WWII planes, tour the hangar and museum, take a jeep ride, sit in a real airplane cockpit, experience the 'Get Your Hands on History' exhibit. There will be activities for children. Heart of America Wing of the Commemorative Air Force is located in the heart of the old Olathe Naval Air Station (now New Century AirCenter), commissioned in 1942 as the primary training facility for U.S. Navy pilots during World War II. The group has fully-restored WWII trainer planes, a Fairchild PT-19 and a Boeing Stearman PT-13, fly and land where their counterparts did in the 1940’s.
