Bonito Michoacan Mexican market and restaurant to open on Santa Fe

Extensive remodeling is underway at 1229 E. Santa Fe, the former location of Side Pockets sports bar. Armando and Mayra Romero will open a popular Mexican grocery and restaurant, Bonito Michoacan Mexican market and the Kmacho Mexican Grill, in early 2012. 
            Specializing in Latino imports, the grocery will feature a meat department, a bakery, and a deli with fast food Mexican dishes made fresh daily. The Romeros own a number of other Bonito Michoacan markets, including one in Kansas City, Kan., but most appear to be located in Texas. The Kmacho Mexican Grill will be the first one for the Romeros, says Lupita Sanchez, a manager at the KCK grocery. The restaurant will offer catering, banquets, and private parties.
